Alec Sheaff

Managing Director

As Managing Director for Capitaline, Alec is responsible for helping lead and manage the firm’s ecological restoration strategy. He is a valued member of the Senior Team and involved in all aspects of firm’s strategy and execution, including business development and client relationship management. For Capitaline’s Ecological Restoration Funds, Alec helps develop and manage the firm’s mitigation fund activities, serving as a key member of the team related to underwriting new investments, sales of credits and limited partner interests. Drawing on his experience in the mitigation banking industry, he develops and manages relationships with investment clients, credit buyers, consultants and regulatory agencies.

Alec went to undergrad at North Carolina State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management and then went on to earn an MBA from the McColl School of Business at Queens University. Alec has over 15 years of experience in environmental crediting and energy markets. He comes to Capitaline from Resource Environmental Solutions (RES), where he was the East Coast regional manager and led the business development team.

Alec and his wife, Rebecca, live in Greensboro, NC with their sons, Webb, David and daughter, May. Outside of work, he can be found spending time with his family or on his mountain bike.
